  1. I could answer the technical questions fine, but I wouldn’t get through the behavior questions. That’s where Koda really jumped in, he helped me with how to answer, how to approach it, how to do the small talk. He was guiding me through the soft skills part of it. Tech skills were fine, but the soft skills part is where I told him I struggle.

TechVish, Associate Technical Engineer at Unisys

  2. Fidel was incredibly influential during the interview process for my current company. He guided me from networking with the right people to preparing for interviews and individual case studies. He is a huge reason why I was able to present the best version of myself.

    TechRapheal, Implementation Consultant at Enable

  3. As an international student, I didn’t know what employers in Perth looked for in CVs or interviews. Aidan walked me through what they expect, how my CV should look and how interviews usually go. Knowing what was waiting ahead of me gave me so much confidence. His best tip: tell your own story instead of the answer everyone else gives.

Khanh, Incoming Summer Vacationer, global firm in Perth

  4. I was being too honest about not having direct experience. Brendon showed me how to stay honest without underselling myself. I got the role.

Vanellope, Human Resources Intern at Women’s Justice Network

  5. I’ve tried free mentoring programs before, but mentors were rarely committed or tailored in their advice. Koko was the opposite, every piece of advice was specific to my situation and actually actionable.

    MarketingAmy, Marketing Intern at Primo

  6. Having a mentor that just did the same interview 2 years ago in the same company is the reason why I got this role.

Finance & AccountingJordan, Audit Graduate at KPMG

  7. I like the flexible lessons, compared to other career programs that are way more expensive. I have gotten my first ever in person final interview!

Finance & AccountingShreya, Economics Major, Macquarie Uni

  8. The reason I passed the individual case study for my current role is because he gave me a PowerPoint template that’s professional and impressed the interviewers.

    ConsultingDaniel, Consulting Graduate at Bhimian

  9. I thought ‘being unique to stand out’ was a buzzword until I realised it was the main reason I got my current role.

MarketingKyra, Marketing Assistant at General Mills

  10. My mentor worked in my target firm, so I think it will be helpful in the interview process for me.

TechKen, Computer Science Major, University of Queensland

  11. I have no formal internship experience and was feeling quite behind. I got paired with a mentor who landed a full time job with no internships either, I feel more calm about my situation.

    AnalyticsMary, Business Analytics, RMIT

  12. I book sessions ad hoc when I want to ask someone who has done it. Its faster than researching on my own. Life admin no one talks about: visa, tax, investing, which job sites actually reply.

Finance & AccountingJoe, Accounting Intern at Griffin Tax

  13. I heard about Headstart through a USYD society event and decided to give it a go. After one 40-minute session, I had a much clearer picture of where I should be heading.

Finance & AccountingMohit, Finance Major, USYD

  14. I kept seeing Headstart on Instagram and decided to check it out. Before this, I was mass applying with no idea what I was doing wrong. After 3 sessions, I finally passed my first online recorded interview.
